The 30th Annual Student Mathematics Conference was held at Moravian College on February 27, 2016.
The conference began with Tessa Haney, the president of our Pi Mu Epsilon chapter, in Prosser Auditorium. Diane Husic, Dean of the School of Natural and Health Sciences at Moravian College, welcomed everyone on behalf of the college administration, then the invited speaker, Betty Mayfield, Professor of Mathematics at Hood College, opened the conference with her address “Women and Mathematics in the Time of Euler.” This was followed by a morning and afternoon program of 21 student talks on a variety of subjects in mathematics and computer science. Members of Pi Mu Epsilon introduced speakers and helped with the many tasks that keep a conference running smoothly.
