Women & Gender Studies Conference

The Women and Gender Studies conference will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Those interested in presenting at this year’s conference can submit their proposals here. All proposal are due no later than February 17, 2018.
The annual conference was a wonderful opportunity for undergraduate students to showcase their accomplishments in March 2017. Students from LVAIC and neighboring colleges and universities were invited to present high-quality academic papers, research projects, videos, artwork, and photography, as well as original poetry and dances. This year’s keynote presentation will be a panel on Title IX including include Michelle Issadore, Leah Breisch, and Lauren Brown.
Michelle Issadore, M.Ed. is the Executive Director of the School and College Organization for Prevention Educators (SCOPE), the Assistant Executive Direction of Prevention and Advocacy for the Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), and the Vice President for Operations and Public Information for The NCHERM Group. Leah Naso Breisch, M.S. is the Title IX Coordinator ad Compliance Officer at Moravian College. Her career has included nearly 20 years experience in student affairs and higher education administration. Breisch holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Master’s of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University.
Lauren Brown, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Sport Management at DeSales University. Prior to her time at DeSales, she worked full-time in Division I athletics, spending 5 years in Student-Athlete Development at Stony Brook University.
