
Cyber Security Awareness Month Enhanced Through Collaboration

LVAIC is hosting a panel of Cyber Security experts on October 4, 2018, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the Wood Dining Room of Iacocca Hall at Lehigh University. The goal of this event is engage members of the LVAIC community in conversations around security policies, vulnerability management, and the importance of understanding areas of weakness in a higher education institution.
Panelists will include experts from across the cyber security industry. They will be answering questions on handling security breaches, how to prevent cybercrime, trends in the industry, avoiding attacks, and much more. Presenters and panelists will include representatives from the US Department of Homeland Security, Forsyte IT Solutions, Integra One, Netizen, and Fortenix.
This event is part of the overall LVAIC Cyber Security Awareness Month programming throughout the month of October. Other learning series events are taking place in and among specific groups of Information Technology, faculty, staff, and students. Specifically, LVAIC is also currently hosting a student video and poster contest aimed at educating students in cyber security issues while developing their skills in design and communications. This collaborative competition will be judged by a panel of experts from the information technology departments on the LVAIC campuses.
Cyber Security Awareness month is an initiative of the US Department of Homeland Security as an effort to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining a securie cyber presence.
