Association for Collaborative Leadership Annual Meeting

The Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges (LVAIC) is a member of the Association for Collaborative Leadership, which is an educational, research and professional organization dedicated to developing leadership capabilities and advancing higher education collaboration. ACL is holding its 2019 annual conference on October 16-18 at Moravian College, hosted by LVAIC.
The theme of this year’s conference is Communication, Collaboration, and Community: Looking Toward the Future. The conference schedule itself is robust with speakers from diverse consortia and member colleges and universities addressing a full range of collaborative efforts. On behalf of LVAIC, we invite you to participate in the Collaboration Showcase on Wednesday, October 16 from 5:15 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. During this informal reception, ACL participants will host a poster that introduces their organizations or ACL committees to others with heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Welcoming remarks and committee introductions will occur during the reception in between the networking.
We also invite you to register for the conference itself and/or the pre-conference workshop. The pre-conference workshop will focus on change management, featuring a workshop taking place on Wednesday, October 16 from 12pm-4pm. This workshop will focus on the principles of change management, overcoming challenges associated with change management, and integrating these practices into consortia work.
Participants return to the ACL meeting year after year to take advantage of networking, access to information and immediately useful ideas and approaches, and for the opportunity to discuss the challenges and rewards of higher education collaboration with others who understand the work.
A formal schedule is available on the ACL website, and the topics to be explored include different aspects of communities of practice, managing external partnerships, maximizing resources through shared purchasing, managing board and leadership relationships, academic collaborative opportunities, and more. Registration is available through the LVAIC website to secure the member rate. Register for the different ticket rates below. Please note: upon registration, we will invoice your campus on your behalf whether or not you attend the conference. There are 3 ticket options at varying times and prices: the Wednesday, October 16 Evening Collaboration Showcase ($90pp), the Wednesday, October 16 Pre-Conference Workshop ($125pp), and the Wednesday, October 16-Friday, October 18 Full Conference Attendance ($300pp).
