Boosting Academic Integrity in the Age of AI

Inspired by the book The Opposite of Cheating: Teaching for Integrity in the Age of AI (Bertram Gallant & Rettinger, 2025), Dr. Laura Murray of CITLS and Dr. Sandra Guzman Foster, inaugural Dean of the Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation at Moravian University, will co-facilitate a conversation exploring students’ Generative AI use and how to move from “policing” learners to actively “partnering” with them to boost academic integrity and ethical decision-making. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to confidently discuss Gen AI tools and academic integrity with students and advisees; identify strategic moments throughout the semester to engage in such conversations; and collaborate with students to co-construct community and course standards regarding ethical Gen AI use for academic work.
