About the Program:
Through a series of observations of teaching, the Teaching Squares program is designed to enhance teaching and learning and build community through a process of reciprocal peer observation, self-reflection, and group discussion.
Once instructors register, they will be grouped into a square (4) or triangle (3) with other participating faculty in a similar discipline within LVAIC institutions. During the first meeting, participants will review the program’s guidelines and schedule all the observations with their square or triangle partners. Instructors will meet again for a closing ceremony towards the end of the program and share what they learned.
Who Can Participate:
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all LVAIC instructors who are teaching online or using HyFlex modalities only (no F2F) can participate in the program during the Spring 2021 Semester.
Why Complete the Program:
Instructors will be able to view a variety of teaching methods and ideas, and contribute to fostering a culture of ongoing reflection and modification in their teaching practices during the pandemic. They will also have the opportunity to increase their understanding and appreciation for the work of colleagues across LVAIC.
