PA Dept of Education Secretary: Public Launch of PA MASLOW at Cedar Crest College

Cedar Crest College hasbeen selected by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) to host theirpublic launch of PA MASLOW, a new and groundbreaking educational initiativedesigned to nurture the many needs of today’s learners.

 

 Join members of the community this comingTuesday, September 5, at 12:00 p.m. in the Cedar Crest College Amory SoissonCenter for Engagement for this launch event, which will feature remarksfrom PDE Secretary Dr. Khalid Mumin, Dr. Calley Stevens Taylor, Vice Presidentfor Student Success and Engagement and Dean of Students at Cedar Crest, andNoor Hussain ’25, Cedar Crest College’s Student Government AssociationPresident and Student Representative to the Board of Trustees. 

 
The PDE’s initiative recognizes Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and implementsstrategies to create supportive collegiate environments. Their Six Pillars ofWork focus on the more modern needs of students, such as: digital equity,mental health, housing & transportation, physical health, adult studentneeds, and safety & belonging.
