Undergraduate Psychology Conference and Neuroscience Conference

The 32nd Annual LVAIC Undergraduate Psychology Conference will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Lafayette College in Oechsle Hall.

The 31st Annual LVAIC Undergraduate Psychology Conference and 7th Annual Lehigh Valley Society for Neuroscience Undergraduate Neuroscience Research Conference took place on April 23, 2016 at Moravian College.

Psychology students gave 20 paper and 13 poster presentations on topics in social, developmental, educational, health, cognitive, and gender psychology. The Psychology keynote speaker was Dr. Catherine Bagwell, an established researcher in developmental psychology/psychopathology from Colgate University, who addressed the importance peer relations and friendships in childhood, adolescence, and emerging adulthood. Neuroscience students gave 12 paper and 19 poster presentations on topics incorporating cellular/molecular, genomic, behavioral, and cognitive neuroscience. In addition, there were 2 paper presentations reflecting philosophy of mind. The Neuroscience keynote speaker was Dr. Emily C. Merz, researcher in the Psychiatric Epidemiology Program at Columbia University, who spoke about the neurobiological pathways involved in the relationship between socioeconomic status and self-regulation.
