Hands On: A Virtual Workshop on Object-Based Learning in College Courses

Experiencing is learning, and hands-on interaction with an object can often be a surprisingly rich educational experience. In this workshop, we’ll scratch the surface of object-based learning (OBL) as an emerging pedagogical mode, and discuss some of the values of using material things as learning centerpieces in our teaching. Participants are invited to “bring” their own object of significance to the workshop to hold, study, and contemplate. Instructors from all disciplines and levels of experience with OBL are welcome to attend.
