Lehigh Valley Counselors Tour Showcases the Region to Over 100 Visitors
May 6, 2019, @ 3:15 PM

Each spring, the Lehigh Valley Counselors Tour showcases the Lehigh Valley region and five of Pennsylvania’s nationally recognized private colleges and universities to approximately 100 school counselors and independent educational consultants from across the nation. The three-day tour is coordinated directly with the Undergraduate Admissions offices at Cedar Crest College, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Moravian College, and Muhlenberg College. Counselors spend a half day experiencing each campus, meeting with students, faculty, and administrators, and discovering the distinctive offerings of LVAIC’s liberal arts colleges.
In addition to seeing firsthand the distinctive strengths of each individual campus, counselors learn about college life in the Lehigh Valley, the value of the liberal arts experience, and the expanded student opportunities offered through the consortium. The Lehigh Valley tour is lauded by the National Association of College Admissions Counselors as one of the most respected in the country.
The program occurs over 3 days and 4 nights with participants lodging at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem and traveling to LVAIC’s campuses during the day. The evening programs include a networking reception with the Admissions staff from each campus and an evening of round-table discussions regarding hot topics in college admissions.
LVAIC has organized and implemented this program each year since 1980. As part of its 50th anniversary as a consortium, the consortium is also celebrating 39 years of this collaborative program. Those interested in participating in this program in the future can sign up for the interest list in August 2019. Each year, the consortium receives ~400 requests to join the tour’s ~100 spots. Visit the Lehigh Valley Counselors Tour page of the LVAIC website for more information.
