On May 23, 2019, LVAIC hosted its annual Digital Tools for Teaching and Learning in the Liberal Arts at DeSales University in conjunction with its Teagle Hybrid Learning Grant. Over 60 faculty and staff from across the LVAIC community gathered to engage in this full-day program.

This event focuses on the pedagogy of why faculty and staff utilize different technologies in the classroom to enhance learning experiences for students. They then showcase the tools through lightning round presentations. After presenting the tools to all attendees, the presenters offer hands-on, facilitated workshops. These hands-on workshops act as training opportunities for the attendees to get started using the technology and planning how to integrate them into their courses. After the lightning rounds and workshops, LVAIC hosted Teagle Visiting Scholar, Kristen Betts, who offered a keynote address on Bringing Curricula to Life Through Mind, Brain & Education Science and Technology Enhanced Learning.

The goals of this event include:

  1. Faculty members interested in integrating digital tools into their courses will learn about

  2. Faculty members, instructional technologists, and librarians will share learning across institutions and bring new ideas back to their home

LVAIC offers a call for proposals throughout the LVAIC community for faculty and staff to share their tools with their peers. This promotes LVAIC’s initiatives around enhancing faculty and staff capabilities by promoting digital literacy. Specifically, this event highlighted the following tools:
