LVAIC Inter-library Loan Program Summer Schedule

For forty-four years, LVAIC has been collaborating around the inter-library loan program. This program offers students, faculty, and staff at all LVAIC campuses to borrow books, articles, media, and more from any other LVAIC campus library or any of the three local municipal libraries: Allentown Public Library, Bethlehem Public Library, and Easton Public Library. LVAIC’s library courier picks up and delivers books on a daily basis during the academic year, typically allowing for patrons to have next-day delivery on any borrowed materials at no cost.
Students and employees also have the option to visit another campus library and check out a book using their home campus identification. They can then return this book to their home institution’s library to be returned via the LVAIC library courier.
When searching for materials at the home campus, results for other campuses’ materials will be accompanied with a link reading, “Request this item through inter-library loan.” This link redirects patrons to a separate one-page form to complete that is sent to both librarians to coordinate the process. Patrons are then notified by e-mail once the borrowed materials are available for pick-up at the home library.
