LVAIC Shares Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative to Maximize Institutional Resources
January 20, 2020, @ 8:30 AM

As part of continuing the initiatives around maximizing resources and enhancing the skills of faculty and staff, LVAIC offers the The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI). This program is available for faculty, staff, or students seeking high quality, peer-reviewed, web-based educational courses in research, ethics, regulatory oversight, responsible conduct of research, research administration, and more. This program was designed with the goals to:
- Enhance the knowledge and professionalism of investigators, staff, and students conducting research in the United States and internationally;
- Educate members, administrators, and leadership of ethics committees that review and oversee research; and
- Promote ethical research at organizations through the education of research administrators and organizational leadership.
While this program began as an initiative at the University of Miami, it continues to grow and add additional resources. The original program only focused on protecting human research subjects, but the content has exponentially grown as the demand has increased over time. The program now includes behavioral and social researchers, animal care and use, biosafety and biosecurity, clinical research coordination, conflicts of interest, disaster planning, export control, good clinical practice, information privacy and security, and responsible conduct of research. CITI Program joined the Biomedical Research Alliance of New York (BRANY) in May 2016 to better address the educational needs of investigators, staff, and students in the global research community.
With its new leadership, the program has expanded to include webinars and conferences, available to the entire LVAIC community through the joint subscription services. More information regarding upcoming events is available on the CITI program page.
