Black Female Excellence: Through the Lens of Members of NPHC (Divine Nine) Sororities

Tuesday, February 23, 2021
Virtual from 7:00-8:00 PM

In celebration of Black History Month and Black Excellence – The committee will offer a 1-hour panel discussion about the legacy of leadership and philanthropy founded in the Sororities of NPHC. As the Vice President of the United States is a member of the First Sorority founded by Black Women in the United States, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., has served as a pipeline for many influential women leaders internationally. As a result of its founding on the campus of Howard University in 1908, and over its 113-year history three other sororities were also founded. We will have representatives from these four organizations speak to the history of Black Female Excellence.

This live panel session will include representatives from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (AKA), Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.(DST), Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.(ZPB), and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.(SGR). Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q & A session with the panel.  The session will be moderated by Dr. Anize Appel, Dr. Belinda Waller Peterson, and Analisha Anthony.
